DRAFT PICKS


The Greater Metro Hockey League (GMHL) held it's annual draft showcase at the World Hockey Centre from June 6th through the 8th. It was a huge success for the Alouettes. They came out of the draft with eleven players in which they feel will surely help their lineup in the upcoming season and others to come. Here are the picks in order of selection:


2nd overall - Greg Hyde - Defense - 6'3" - Australia Junior - Born: 1989
 

11th overall - Brett De Lorenzi - Defense - 6'0" - California Cougars - Born: 1989


15th overall - Steve Garcia - Forward - 6'3" - Fort McMurray (Bantam AA) - Born: 1993


16th overall - Dominic Calabrago - Forward - 5'9" - Toronto Young Nats - Born: 1992 (traded to King Wild for two 2nd round picks in 2009)


30th overall - Chris Hebert - Forward - 6'0" - Temiscaming Royals (Junior A) - Born: 1991


44th overall - Marc Desgagnés - Forward - 5'10" - Temiscaming Royals (Junior A) - Born: 1990


53rd overall - Jacob Bedard - Defense - 5'11" - New Liskeard Cubs (Midget AAA) - Born: 1992


58th overall - Tyler Miller - Forward - 5'5" - New Liskeard Cubs (Midget AAA) - Born: 1992


94th overall - Roch Pellerin - Forward - 5'11" - North Bay Trappers (Midget AAA) - Born: 1992


107th overall - Justin Huyke - Forward - 5'10" - Widdifield Secondary School Wildcats - Born: 1989


120th overall - Adam Marceau - Left Wing - 5'11" - North Bay Trappers (Midget AAA) - Born: 1991


135th overall - Nick Brunette - Forward - 5'8" - North Bay Skyhawks (Junior A) - Born: 1989
